Christine Manfield – A Dessert Storm
This year during AKLF 2016 (Apeejay Kolkata Literary Festival) Kolkata had a very special guest from Australia. Kolkata being a gastronomy crazy city saw none other than Christine Manfield presenting her culinary skill in front of a packed hall at The Park. This was also the event where she launched her book A Personal Guide to India and Bhutan. This book was released by none other than Vir Sanghvi. Nondon Bagchi and Chef Sharad Dewan were also present at the event thus creating a perfect diversified atmosphere for a Sunday afternoon delight.
The Park ensured the evening to be a bit different by arranging a high tea with a difference, desserts like Muri Moa, Khoi Moa, Gurer Sandesh & Tiler Naru were served which are more of a traditional Bengali snacks and savouries. Along with that we had the classic Rum Balls, Strawberry Pastries, Choco Cubes etc.
Post the book launch and the tea break it was time for some live demonstration from Christine Manfield. She showed us three; Meringue Puffs, White Chocolate Mousse and Birthday Suit. I would suggest you buy the book to know the recipe in details, in this blog I will only show you photographs of Christine Manfield creating magic in front of the audience. Trust me my photographs do not do a justice to her creations and those who saw with their own eyes know the level of torture it was to see them in front of your eyes.
Thank you for going through my blog will be back soon with many such culinary adventures.
